Camino De Santiago Workshop
Raising money for the Lucian Page Scholarship fund, David successfully traversed the 800km across Spain in 12 grueling days. Traveling from Pamplona in the East to Santiago De Compostella in the West, David completed the Camino De Santiago (Walk of St James) in a feat of endurance unlike any other he has experienced - encountering bone jarring terrain, energy sapping heat, lung busting mountains and long long days. Much the same as newly appointed teachers do in their first years of the profession!
Audience Experience:
This workshop is designed to give new staff, beginning teachers or any team members for that matter, an understanding of what challenges to expect in an education environment and how to deal with them effectively. Creating a positive learning climate within your classroom is expected and definitely achievable! This course presents the skills and methods necessary for creating a positive learning environment and implementing clear behaviour management strategies for your classroom.
Many of the best planned lessons go wasted due to students not ‘tuning in’ during the crucial instructional phase of lessons. Creating a positive learning environment and using appropriate behaviour management techniques ensures that students are aware of desired lesson outcomes, focused on achieving their best and helps limit distractions or disruptions during set tasks. Teaching can be stressful when a teacher feels they have lost control of some student behaviour within the class. It can also have flow-on effects on the playground and at home. Attending this course is the first step in creating a positive learning climate within the classroom.
David will share proven evidence-based strategies, practical methods, cast iron behaviour management plans and positive classroom practices – this workshop will equip you with a greater sense of confidence and commitment to your craft.
