If you’d have told me that over a 72-hour period, your team would exceed all expectations not only as individuals but a collective, who radiate the themes of Ownership, Accountability & Responsibility, I wouldn’t have believed you. What DK unearthed is now a group of women who strive to rise to the occasion, relish the torment of the pain cave, embrace challenges that present themselves but more importantly, portray selfless acts to ensure their teammates know they have their support regardless of the situation. I had the privilege of participating in a 3-day camp run by David King (Kingy). His program focused on the psychology involved in sports and specifically, the mental drive experienced by individuals and teams. During the 3-day program, I along with my teammates, were pushed to my limits both physically and mentally and saw many of us questioning our drive, our abilities and those of each other. Being a rugby union player, I am used to hard knocks. But this camp saw us "tough" rugby players challenged both mentally and physically. Kingy’s camp was rigorous, exhausting and challenging. There were early mornings and late nights. There was sweat on top of sweat and deadlines on top of deadlines. There were consequences, setbacks and failure. However, this totally rewarding program saw us grow as individuals and as a team. We learned more about each other's abilities, mental strength, and drive, in those three days, than many of us ever have or ever will, by simply focusing on the physical aspect of our game. The benefits we each experienced from this program, are still evident in our team today. I have never been part of a team or camp where the focus has been on the mental capacity and mindset of the players individually and collectively. Consequently, I believe our team is not only physically ready for the season ahead, but we are mentally in front of our opposition before we even step foot on the field.
I cannot recommend enough, to any athlete or team that wants an edge over their opposition or to learn how to grow individually or as a group, to contact Kingy and participate in this program. I've been in many teams in my rugby career but never have I ever had an experience like that. It has been so great for me personally and us as a team. I'm even transferring many of the skills I've learned into my workplace and everyday life.

The results that I have seen though two of Dave King's sessions are almost immeasurable. Both the individual and team have gained a new and understanding of endurance psychology that has defined them as a player and athlete. I have seen the benefit of both sort term and season success from the lessons and hard work set out in his sessions. The Gungahlin Eagles and Australian Schools Barbarians both set standards of cultural success and athletic success after they had endured tests of both mental and physical endurance.
Kingy challenges what players know about their own ability, and that of what they can achieve when the mental barrier is conquered. The realisation of potential through a Kingy session allows players to push beyond their own expectations and deliver performances they thought were impossible. I absolutely recommend this program for any professional set up and look forward to using Dave as a resource and coaching consultant.

The most critical component of the ANUCC preseason was our Endurance Psychology sessions with Kingy. He facilitated a workshop for players and coaches that exposed us to a mindset of high-performance on a level we'd never experienced before. Our much-improved training and performance this season is a reflection of the knowledge we gained and the belief that Kingy instilled in the group that morning.
In the afternoon, Kingy took us outside and really challenged us physically. We exerted ourselves in the pouring rain for a few hours and put everything we'd talked about that morning into practice. Kingy was able to prove that completing each challenge was about overcoming barriers with a rock-solid mind and positive communication.
A special day that we will look back on as a turning point for our club.
Gungahlin Eagles Rugby Union Club – Trent Pollard, Secretary
The Eagles held a planning day ahead of the 2019 season where the players, coaches, volunteers, and administration came together to reset and realign ahead of another year chasing success. Kingy addressed the entire group and facilitated some really honest conversation, and had us feeling inspired for what was to come in the rugby season ahead.
After spending time reflecting on where we've been and where we were at, everyone took the chance to present what the club meant to them. It was a really effective way to lift the energy and engagement in the room for the rest of the day. There were activities that helped us understand ourselves and our peers on a deeper level, which enabled us to think strategically how we can leverage each other and work together to achieve our goals.
Kingy took the players for a leadership workshop that made a tremendous impact on our 2019 campaign, with every team playing finals footy and two sides winning premierships. Our players were clearly inspired for the entirety of the season and the foundations our leadership group laid with Kingy's support were paramount to that success.
Can't wait for more work with Kingy at the Eagles.
